Our AML and Verification Policy

We operate under Curaçao licence 8048/JAZ2023-045, and that licence carries real obligations. This page sets out, in plain terms, how we verify who you are, why we sometimes ask about your funds, and what happens if checks are not completed.

Our AML Commitment at Duel Casino

Money laundering and terrorism financing are risks we take seriously. Our platform is operated by Duel Entertainment N.V. under Curaçao licence 8048/JAZ2023-045, and we maintain an anti-money-laundering program that matches the requirements of that jurisdiction. Every obligation below is standard practice for licensed operators, and we apply it without exception to all accounts, including ours VIP members.

Our program covers three pillars: knowing who our players are, monitoring how money moves through our platform, and reporting suspicious activity to the relevant authority. We do not tolerate accounts used as a pass-through for third-party funds, and we act quickly when patterns suggest it.

  • Customer due diligence at registration and before first withdrawal
  • Ongoing transaction monitoring on all deposits and withdrawals
  • Screening against sanctions and politically exposed person (PEP) lists
  • Reporting of suspicious transactions to the authority under our licence

When We Verify Your Identity

Verification runs on a staged basis. Basic checks happen at registration: we confirm your email, and our system screens your details against sanctions lists. Full document verification is required before your first withdrawal, and additional checks trigger automatically at AUD 10,000 in cumulative deposits and again at AUD 20,000.

You must be 18 or over and reside outside our restricted territories, which include the USA, UK, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Italy and Germany. If a document does not match your account details, we will ask you to reconcile the difference before processing anything.

  • Government-issued photo ID: passport, driver licence or national ID card
  • Proof of address: utility bill or bank statement dated within the last 3 months
  • Proof of payment method ownership: card photo showing first 6 and last 4 digits, or a screenshot of your crypto or e-wallet account showing your name

How Verification Works, Step by Step

Documents travel over an encrypted connection and are stored on access-restricted servers. Only our compliance staff can view them, and we never share them with third parties except where the law of our licence jurisdiction requires it.

Why We Ask About Source of Funds

If your deposits exceed AUD 10,000 over time, or if your betting pattern does not match the profile we hold for you, we may request evidence of where your money comes from. This is not an accusation. It is a licence requirement, and refusing to answer it leaves us no choice but to restrict the account.

Acceptable evidence includes recent payslips, a tax return, bank statements showing regular income, or sale documents for assets such as property. What matters is that the figures align with the amounts you deposit with us. We treat everything you submit as confidential.

How We Monitor Transactions

Every deposit and withdrawal passes through automated screening. Our systems flag rapid deposit-then-withdraw cycles with minimal play, structuring just below reporting thresholds, and deposits from sources that do not match your verified payment methods. Flagged transactions go to a human reviewer, never an automatic block without cause.

We apply a same-method rule: funds return to the method they came from wherever possible. Card deposits are refunded to Visa withdrawals, crypto deposits to the same coin, and PayID deposits to your verified PayID. Minimum deposit is AUD 2, minimum withdrawal is AUD 30, and limits are AUD 15,000 per day and AUD 80,000 per month, with no fees on either side.

If Verification Fails or Stalls

An unverified account can deposit and play, but withdrawals stay locked until KYC is complete. If you ignore a document request for 30 days, we suspend the account. If you submit forged documents or a document belonging to someone else, we close the account permanently, forfeit bonuses and report the attempt to the authority under our licence.

Where a check fails for a fixable reason, such as an expired ID or a cropped utility bill, we tell you exactly what to replace and reopen the review. Suspicious activity reports are filed without notifying the account holder, as the law requires.

  • Withdrawals locked until verification is complete
  • 30 days of no response to a document request: account suspended
  • Fraudulent documents: permanent closure and reporting
  • Failed check with a fixable cause: specific instructions and a fresh review

How Long We Keep Your Documents

We retain verification records for five years after your account closes, because our Curaçao licence obliges us to produce them if the regulator asks. After that period the documents are permanently deleted from our servers. You can request confirmation of deletion at any time by writing to [email protected], available 24/7.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to verify my identity before I can deposit?

No. Basic screening runs at registration, but full document checks are only required before your first withdrawal or once cumulative deposits reach AUD 10,000.

How long does verification take?

Most checks finish within 24 hours of receiving clear documents. Withdrawals are then processed within 1-3 days.

Why must withdrawals go back to my deposit method?

Our same-method rule is an anti-money-laundering control. It ensures funds return to a payment method we have verified as yours, such as your Visa card, PayID account or crypto wallet.

What happens if I refuse a source of funds request?

We must restrict the account, including withdrawals, until the request is satisfied. Refusal is treated the same as a failed verification.

Who can see the documents I upload?

Only our compliance team, on access-restricted servers. Documents are kept for five years after account closure and then permanently deleted.
